Zippin reaches key checkout-free stores milestone
Checkout-free technology firm, Zippin, says that it has served over half a million shoppers in one of the 50 stores powered by its solution.
It calculates that it has saved consumers over 83,000 hours to date, conservatively estimating that frictionless retail reduces the average shopping trip by 10 minutes.
Zippin plans to scale roll-out of its technology with partners around the globe.
“Retailers are under immense pressure to deliver fast, frictionless experiences for consumers, and this is especially true in high-traffic venues where time is limited,” says Krishna Motukuri, CEO and Co-founder, Zippin.
“We recognise that speed can’t come at the expense of accuracy. With each new store launch, our AI improves its ability to provide the best experience for both retailers and shoppers, who are fast coming to expect this level of convenience. That’s why it’s so important that we continue to scale, quickly.”
With a tap of a credit card to enter the store, shoppers pick what they need and exit.
With more than 40 stores across the US and 10 internationally, Zippin’s most recent Stateside openings include:
Two “Buzz City” Zippin Lanes, inside the Spectrum Center, home to the Charlotte Hornets.
One West Market store, the largest Zippin powered convenience store featuring more than 2,500 different SKUs in its 4,000-square-feet space.
Four additional stores at a leading East Coast NBA arena.
